Sandstone from a demolished building has been saved for community projects. The stone was taken from the old Llangollen hospital which was recently demolished to make way for new housing.

The local Rhosymedre sandstone was used within the former hospital building which has been gifted to the local community.  It will be used for repairs to the entrance to the Market Street car park and the derelict sluice at Lower Dee Mill.   Some of the stone has also been given to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod for use as part of its 70th birthday celebrations this year.
